Due to the institutional and widespread hierarchic nature of the Christian establishment which continues to purport the subversion ideologies of satanism, witchcraft, and the rest, a heavy emphasis is placed within New Age self-religions like Satanism on autonomy and individualism. This undermines central direction and doctrinal coherence to published texts and proffered maxims. Its fulcrum of value is on what works for the individual, not what may be guaranteed as hallowed wisdom.
