In general, esotericism is the study of mystical and occult practices reputed to refine one's spirituality or produce an extraordinary result.
As promoted by individual mystics, esotericism incorporates cosmological, metaphysical, and moral facets as part of a complete ideology as revealed by the authorities of the mystic in question.
