Runnin' With the Devil! WTF 666 by boboroshi Ninth Scholar of the Order of K@os Undur Satan so I was sittin' next ta me altar to Kali, Queen of Demons, and kickin after a hard day's work making comic books and shopping for coffin lining with me tantrika sri catyananda when the most amazing fuckin' thing happened. I wuz putting away a 4-Handed Chess set I was using for divination and my attention was slightly distracted by a mouse who was finding dry land near my Black Magic Chinese Cabinet in the ancient castle where I live. whammo! as I put the signs 'East'/'West'/'North'/'South' from the divination set down on the floor under the Mexican Baphomet Tarot Card box in which I'd so recently put those new Spanish Waite-Smith Tarot cards, I had a notion to open it. I set it down and snatched the top away (why is its Waitean Devil painted with a 9 of Diamonds and pants on the chick?? it's the weirdest damn thing, almost of as strange as what happened next). I lovingly tossed the slick new cards about, their surfaces hissing softly across one another and providing a feeling as flowingly rhythmic as look the magicians with their white gloves and crystal balls juggling bubbles, floating in the air. selecting a card without thinking, I shifted this to the back and gazed adoringly at the deck's lineated reverse display. it is not one I would normally have, since I was drawn to darker and more powerful decks like the Great Beast's 'Thoth' that that Lady Freida Harris painted. and yet I was quite familiar with its touch and look, as many of my friends and lovers worked with it and provided me with numerous readings. it is a classic, and to me unexpected in Spanish (with which I'm slightly familiar). I next began to wonder from where in the deck it had come, and reasoned it was probably at most into the Minor first suit (a completely untouched deck save for the Magus, who graced my work desk for some days after it arrived -- "El Mago"!). slowing in my hand movements I gathered the deck together with this selected card in mind, considering it was possibly one of the Major Arcana -- you know, them funny pictures called 'trumps' in the tarot game in Europe. somewhat interestedly, but not with any preconceptions did I turn it over (the only card other than El Mago which I really took the time to look at since the deck arrived some half dozen moons ago) and it was El Diablo! I went "whoa! d00d!!" and my excitement was as may be expected. I rode with the amazement, the sheer thrill of Synchros, and put the Devil on a visual plane aside this computer terminal between it and Alliette's etteillA Grande Egyptian Gypsies Tarot sporting its Baphometic Card 14, "Absolute Necessity/Force Majeure"). I grasped the deck only whose back had I seen, and placed it within the Baphometic Box, looking over at Kali and smiling.
